If you spend the weekend listening to music while sampling champion wine, then there is a pretty good chance you will run into award-winning, jazz masters Dwayne and Dwight Bosman as you stroll the streets of Hermann, Missouri over the 5th Annual Hermann Wine and Jazz Festival, September 6-8, 2019.
The quaint and cozy, historic village is intimate enough to bump into your friends while exploring local shops and enjoying top-notch German cuisine. Yet there are plenty of historic sites and wineries to traverse. Voted “Missouri’s Most Beautiful Town,” the picturesque Rhineland of the Midwest boasts three (3) full days of music — Friday and Sunday being added for the first time.
Catch the line-up at the must-see 1837 Wine & Craft Beer Bar with “Friends of Aaron Bounds” 9-piece band on Friday, September 6 from 8-11 pm located in the Hermann Crown Suites Hotel. Sunday, September 8 meet at the Gasconade County Courthouse overlooking the Missouri River. “John Berkemeyer’s Big Band” performs 1-4 pm, at the same time art murals are explained. Free knockwurst, wine and spirit samples will be available from the Hermann Arts Council.
Traditionally, Saturday (September 7) is a full-day of music that kicks-off with an iconic and educational jazz panel at 12:30 pm (amphitheater). This year’s topic is “St. Louis Jazz” — followed by five (5) swingin’ jazz bands! Featured are the internationally, revered “Bosman Twins” who have been performing together ~50 years and have a jazz pedigree most musicians would kill to have.
