The Hermann Wine and Jazz Festival jazz sommelier, WSIE 88.7 The Sound‘s, General Manager, Jason Church, has selected a diverse assortment of jazz music that is sure to please all palates. You can enjoy one day, or the entire weekend!
You have opportunities to learn from fine the “St. Louis Jazz” panel and both Stone Hill Winery and Adam Puchta Winery during the festival. In addition, the Hermann Wine Trail offers a chance to sample wine at seven (7) different family-owned wineries in one day. On day three of the festival, the Hermann Arts Council presents jazz and history from the Gasconade County Courthouse.
Whether you prefer indoors or outdoors, we’ve got you covered! The historic, must-see, 1837 Bar is blessed with vintage stone/brick from the Victorian-era and is located on the lower level of Hermann Crown Suites Hotel. Other venues include the Clara Eitmann Messmer Amphitheater, and recently renovated Gasconade County Courthouse overlooking the Missouri River. It is believed to be the only courthouse in the United States built entirely with private funds.
The ‘First Friday Art Walk‘ in downtown Hermann takes place Friday, September 6 with 20 businesses participating and even more artists from 4-8 pm! And on Sunday, September 8, the ‘20th Annual Car Show in the Park,’ sponsored by the River City Cruisers Car Club, takes place from 8:30 – 5 pm.

The Hermann Trolley Co. offers transportation back and forth from the wineries, and is one of the most fun Missouri Wine Tours in the area. At only $20 per day, the Hermann Trolley offers round-trip service from your bed and breakfast. And with Amtrak’s Missouri River Runner, you can be safe and arrive alive. Its service runs twice a day from St. Louis and Kansas City, often offering online discounts.
